Saw an interesting old movie with my husband this weekend while the girls were napping...well Mei-Mei woke and joined us for the end of it...but China Doll slept...anyhow the kids' naps isn't the point...

"The Scarlet and the Black" - starring Gregory Peck

The movie was based on a true story during WWII. It made me think again about drawing a line and standing for our convictions without compromise. Will I put my life on the line for what I believe? Just how firmly do I believe what I say I believe? Someone has already given His life to spare mine, will I give mine for another/others? And more importantly it reminded me the power of forgiveness...wow, the end really caught me for surprise. Anyhow, again it is an old movie, but you can watch online streaming at netflix.

I LOVE my husband. He's awesome!!!

In the more than 4 years we've been married, I have repeatedly sat down and quietly reflected on the WOW things about God I have learned from my husband. Glimpses of the character of Jesus Christ regularly flow from his life. I see how faithfully he loves and cares for me and the girls, even when he's tired, and even when we are being emotional girls and not so fun to listen to...He's been so good to us!

I love to sit and watch him as he plays with and cares for his girls...China Doll SO ADORES her daddy. She can't hardly stand to let him leave her sight. And Baby Mei-Mei coos and makes cheerful noises when she relaxes in his arms. Last week she made her first sustained laughter and giggles. I mean REAL OBVIOUS laughter...and guess where she was when she did? DADDY's lap! She was looking into his eyes and having a great time!

What a blessing my husband is to me!!!...this weekend I hosted a special bachelorette party for my best friend (I will be in her wedding this coming week! woohoo! so excited for her...) Anyhow, I mention this party because it was OUT OF TOWN. So my husband took care of both his girls for pretty much all day/night Saturday by himself. And when I came home early this Sunday AM, there he was sitting in the glider caring for Mei-Mei who was surprisingly already awake at 8:30 AM! The girls were happy with him, and he did so fabulously. Most any mom knows the feeling of "will the kids be okay without me?" And I was so blessed to have a special day with my best friend, and even more blessed to come home knowing that my family was in good hands with SUPER-daddy!

I missed my husband SO much in the few hours I was gone...so glad to be home again!
